Our Community
Terra Siesta Co-Op, Inc. is a premier 55+ resident-owned community located in beautiful Ellenton, Florida. Spanning 36 acres, our community is home to 534 units nestled among tropical palms and majestic oak trees.
We offer a quiet yet active lifestyle, where residents can relax by our two pools, enjoy social events in our clubhouses, or participate in various sports and activities. It's the perfect balance of tranquility and community engagement.

History and Incorporation
Terra Siesta Co-Op, Inc. was incorporated in 1991 as a Florida not-for-profit cooperative corporation. This structure provides our residents with long-term security and a voice in the community's future.
Permanent Community
The community is effectively permanent and cannot be sold, nor can the corporation be dissolved, without a 100% vote of all shareholders.
Legal Framework
Governed primarily by Florida Statutes Chapter 719, with bylaws that largely mirror the statute to ensure legal compliance and fairness.
Fiduciary Duty
Our Board of Directors is elected by shareholders and has a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the community and its members.
How Terra Siesta Works
Cooperative & Shareholders
- Shareholders own a 99-year renewable lease on their lot.
- Terra Siesta Co-Op, Inc. is the lease holder.
- Shareholders own their dwelling outright.
- All shareholders contribute equally to costs.
